The PHOT0HELDH project investigates photocatalysis using layered double hydroxides (LDHs) as a sustainable strategy for environmental purification. By using solar energy, these materials can promote the degradation of pollutants in both air and water. The project focuses on the design of advanced LDH-based photocatalysts, which are expected to enhance light absorption, charge transport and catalytic performance.
Layered double hydroxides (LDHs) are versatile inorganic materials whose composition and structure can be precisely tuned. This makes them promising platforms for environmental remediation.
The main objective of PHOT0HELDH is to investigate zero-dimensional (0D) and high-entropy (HE) layered double hydroxides (LDHs) as low-cost and sustainable photocatalysts for the removal of environmental pollutants under visible light.
